I went there several months ago with my friend Idya, and we tried out the Bulgogi set and Cheese Toppoki but I was camera-less at that time. So I decided, why not come back and make a fun review for all of you guys to see? Yayness!
So, first off, judged by the appearance, it is pretty much an ordinary food stall that you often come to encounter at supermarkets. Square-shaped, with glass shelves to display food, and the workers work inside the square (You know what I mean, right?). I was kinda pessimistic about the taste when Idya first took me there, but it only lasts for so long because it was only about time when the cheese toppoki had me at the first bite. I also tried a bit of Idya's bulgogi set, and it was surprisingly nice. The meat was well cooked, which is kinda the essential part of making bulgogi. It's all in the meat. Not the rice, not the soup, but the meat. High-five if you love meat!
Today, I came back and ordered Manjoo and Oden Topokki. Manjoo is a Korean subway snack, and it is shaped like little corns. It pretty much tastes like Indonesia's Kue Cubit, only that Manjoo is filled with vanilla custard cream. Another yay for custard cream! :'D
The Oden Topokki came and it shocked me of how small the portion was for the price that I've paid for. I first thought it was a total rip-off, but a few pieces of rice cakes and fish cakes later, I felt full already. Or maybe because I already ate three hours prior to that, I have no idea either. But I was full enough for sure.
If you're a fan of Korean food/Asian food/exotic food, or perhaps you are a beginner who wants to try out new food and quite not sure where to start, and you are too afraid to try at those fancy, expensive-looking restaurants, I suggest that you try out this Lotte Mart's Korean food stall. Because it serves all the basic Korean subway and stall snacks, and it was pretty affordable for students and teachers (like me! :D).
The menu. I just love menus with written price!
PS: The price is already tax-included.
Oden Topokki
26000 IDR
Manjoo small size
18000 IDR
